After adding the back and finishing the stand I needed to paint it, I used Ford Singal Yellow car paint, by using car paint it was successful because it took to the wood very well and I didn't need to prime it.
Only two layers of the paint wasn't enough and I actually ended up using two cans of the spray until I was happy with the opacity of the paint.
