Narrative - (Text and Image) Hand Rendering My Own Type

On the left here at the top of my sketchbook is a quote from the book Choose Wonder Over Worry by Amber Rae, when I was reading it I thought it was the perfect way to describe how I was actually feeling while making this project so personal and something I hardly ever feel comfortable actually talking about in real life so I am using my visual language to do so.

I then started thinking more about the text I was going to use in my zine.
After experimenting with letterpress and not finding the sort of type I feel like would be appropriate for such a hand made personal zine I decided to go back to one of the original artists I looked into, Rob Ryan. A lot of Rob Ryan's original work is hand cut images which he then turns into screenprints. The process of hand cutting all the individual letters out meant I could make them look however I wanted.
After cutting all of the letters out I then scanned them into the computer and placed a dark background on the file so I could highlight and select each letter with ease and add them to the zine one by one.
